Yes.
I've taught both in-person and online for 15 years, and I've found that online lessons offer more benefits for most families. With good camera views on both sides, technique can be developed just as effectively as in person. Online lessons also encourage careful listening, which is one of the most important skills musicians develop.
Families love that there's no commute, no missed lessons due to sniffles, and no forgotten books. Parents can get things done during lesson time, and my favorite benefit: students learn on their own piano at home.
(Pajamas during lessons are an optional bonus.)
In Portland, 30-minute piano lessons typically range from $35 to $75 per lesson, depending on the teacher's experience and training.

Many children are ready to begin piano around age 5, especially with an experienced and patient teacher. At this age, students can start developing listening skills, musical understanding, and healthy technique that will support them for years to come.
And it's never too late to start learning piano. Whether you're 7, 37, or 77, your brain can still form new connections, and the benefits of learning music are profound at any age.
