Develop a strong foundation with a focus on rhythm, reading and technique; and balance the disciplined work by learning songs you love. Creativity is always welcome and knowing what you'd like to learn is encouraged.
And meeting online gives us more options than ever these days! We keep the setup simple so that the focus is on piano. All you need is a phone or tablet that runs Google Meets or Facetime.

Piano PLUS Voice Lessons
It can be humbling to add singing to your piano playing. It takes time to develop good vocal practices and coordinating those with your piano skills is quite a feat! But the rewards... they're more than worth the effort. Singing is not only fun, it's excellent for your nervous system which makes it great for your health overall.
For vocal technique, we'll work the basics: posture, breathing and exercises that are comfortable for each student's vocal range. Students are welcome to focus on singing pop music or do a deeper voice dive and learn to sing classically.

Piano PLUS Composition Lessons
Learning to write your own music - whether it's Songwriting or Composing - is the ultimate application of music theory and music knowledge. It also may be the most beautiful way a person can express themself. It's not easy! Great music writing takes many years of skill-building and many many hours of writing. But watching your pieces begin to stack up and noticing the ways that you're beginning to create the sounds you've been imaginging is an incredible feeling.
Students are welcome to focus on Songwriting (chord-based tunes with lyrics) or Composition (melody and harmony writing on the grand staff). Composition students who've studied two or more years may be eligible to participate in Young Composers Project.
